Creating Your First Lead Funnel

A lead funnel is a multi-step form that qualifies and captures leads. In LeadCapture, every funnel comes with a built-in landing page and a shareable URL, so you can start collecting leads in minutes. This article walks you through creating your first funnel from scratch.

Creating a New Funnel

  1. From your dashboard, click the New Funnel button in the top-right corner.
  2. Give your funnel a name (for example, "Home Insurance Quote"). This name is for your internal reference and will not appear to leads.
  3. Click Create. You will be taken into the Funnel Builder.

Every new funnel automatically gets a hosted landing page URL that you can share right away. You can customize the URL path or connect a custom domain later from the Publish tab.

Understanding the Funnel Builder

The builder is an all-in-one workspace where you design both your lead form and the landing page around it. Here is how the layout works:

  • Left Panel – Shows the block palette when nothing is selected. When you click on a form step, it switches to show step settings and field options.
  • Center Canvas – A live preview of your landing page with the form embedded directly in it. You can add headlines, text blocks, images, and videos around your form.
  • Right Panel – Shows your form steps. Click any step to select it and edit its fields in the left panel.

Adding and Editing Steps

Your funnel starts with one step. To build a multi-step lead quiz:

  1. Click Add Step at the bottom of the steps panel on the right.
  2. Choose the step type: Form (collects data), Transition (animated loading screen), or Thank You (final confirmation).
  3. Select a step to edit its settings in the left panel. You can set the step headline, subheadline, and button text.
  4. From the Add Fields tab, drag or click field types (such as Email, Phone, First Name, or Buttons) to add them to the step.

Configuring the Thank You Step

The last step in your funnel should be a Thank You step. This is what leads see after they submit the form. You can customize the headline and message, or set up a redirect to send leads to an external URL after submission.

Adding Landing Page Content

Your form is automatically embedded on your landing page. To add content around it:

  1. Click on an empty area of the canvas (deselect the form).
  2. The left panel shows available blocks: Headline, Text, Image, Video, and Custom Code.
  3. Click or drag a block to add it to the page. Blocks added above the form appear in the content area, while blocks below appear in a full-width section.

Saving and Previewing

  1. Click Save in the top bar. A pulsing glow around the button indicates you have unsaved changes.
  2. Use the device toggle icons (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile) to preview how your funnel looks on different screen sizes.
  3. Open the Publish tab to copy your hosted URL and share it, or see the embed code for adding the form to your own website.

Pro Tips

  • Keep your funnel short. Funnels with 3 to 5 steps tend to have the highest completion rates.
  • Put easy, low-commitment questions first (like "What type of coverage are you looking for?") and save contact fields for the final step.
  • Use the AI Copilot sidebar to speed things up. Type natural language commands like "add an email field to step 2" or "change the button color to blue" and the copilot will make the changes for you.
  • Every funnel gets a live URL immediately. You do not need to "publish" separately.
