Publishing Your Funnel (Hosted vs Embedded)

Once you have built your lead funnel, there are two ways to make it live: host it on a LeadCapture landing page or embed it on your own website. You can use both options at the same time. This article explains the differences and how to set each one up.

Option 1: Hosted Landing Page

Every funnel automatically gets a hosted landing page with a shareable URL. No setup is required.

  • Default URL format: app2.leadcapture.io/p/your-path
  • The URL is live immediately after you create the funnel.
  • The landing page includes your form plus any content blocks you have added (headlines, images, videos, etc.).
  • You can customize the URL path, add SEO metadata, and connect a custom domain.

Customizing the URL Path

  1. Open the Publish tab in the builder.
  2. Find the Landing Page URL section.
  3. Edit the path to something memorable and relevant (e.g., /home-insurance-quote).
  4. The system checks for availability in real time. If the path is already taken, you will see an error.
  5. Click Save to apply the new path.

Option 2: Embedded on Your Website

Embedding places your lead form directly on any web page you control. The form appears inline, matching the flow of your existing content.

  1. Open the Publish tab in the builder.
  2. Find the Embed Code section.
  3. Copy the embed snippet provided.
  4. Paste the snippet into the HTML of your website where you want the form to appear.

The embed code is a small snippet that loads your form inside a container on the page. It works on any website that supports custom HTML.

Hosted vs Embedded: When to Use Each

Scenario Recommended Option
Running paid ads and need a dedicated landing page Hosted landing page
Adding a lead form to an existing website or blog Embedded
Using a landing page builder like Unbounce or Instapage Embedded
Sharing a link via email, social media, or text Hosted landing page
WordPress site with an existing page design Embedded
Need full control over SEO and page content Hosted landing page
Need the form on multiple pages Embedded (same code on each page)

Using Both at the Same Time

You can use both options simultaneously. The hosted landing page and the embedded form point to the same funnel. Leads captured from either source appear in the same leads dashboard, and webhooks fire identically regardless of how the lead found the form.

The Publish Tab

The Publish tab is your one-stop location for all distribution settings:

  • Landing Page URL – Your hosted page link with a copy button.
  • Embed Code – The HTML snippet for embedding on external sites.
  • Custom Domain – Connect your own domain to the hosted landing page.
  • SEO Settings – Page title, meta description, Open Graph, and Twitter cards for the hosted page.
  • Custom Code – Inject tracking scripts, pixels, and custom CSS.

Pro Tips

  • Your funnel is live as soon as you create it. There is no separate "publish" step. When you save changes in the builder, they are reflected on the live page immediately.
  • If you want to take a funnel offline temporarily, you can unpublish the landing page in the Publish tab. The embed will also stop loading if the funnel is unpublished.
  • For branded URLs, connect a custom domain like pages.yourbrand.com. See also: Setting Up Custom Domains.
  • The same embed code works on unlimited pages. You only need one snippet per funnel.
