Click Fraud Detection (Anura Integration)

Overview

Click fraud is one of the biggest drivers of poor lead and data quality. LeadCapture already validates

phone numbers and email addresses at the point of capture, but those checks happen after a lead is

submitted. The Anura integration adds a check at the very first click, so you can identify fraudulent

or bot traffic before it ever becomes a lead.

LeadCapture integrates with Anura.io, a best-in-class click fraud detection platform. Rather than a

basic connector, the Anura data is threaded through the entire LeadCapture platform.

For every lead you capture you can:

  • See whether the lead is good or fraudulent, right in your Leads list
  • Pass the Anura data into your CRM or lead distribution tool
  • Route leads conditionally based on the Anura verdict
  • Feed the Anura result into Lead Scoring

Combined with phone and email verification, this can significantly improve the quality of the leads

that make it through your funnels.

The integration works the same whether you host your funnels on LeadCapture or embed them on your own domain and landing pages.

How Anura scores a click: the three verdicts

When a visitor lands on your funnel, Anura evaluates the click and returns one of three verdicts:

  • Good (green): legitimate traffic
  • Warn (yellow): suspicious traffic
  • Bad (red): fraudulent or invalid traffic

Warn and Bad verdicts also include a reason, such as the invalid traffic type (for example,

"sophisticated invalid traffic"), so you understand why a click was flagged.

Do you need an Anura account?

You can use this integration whether or not you are an Anura customer.

If you are not an Anura customer: The integration runs through LeadCapture and uses LeadCapture

credits. You do not need to sign up for anything on the Anura side.

If you are an Anura customer: You can bring your own Anura instance ID into LeadCapture. This

bypasses LeadCapture credits entirely, and usage is billed through your Anura account instead.

Before you start

If you are not an Anura customer, make sure your account has credits. The Anura integration will not

run without them.

To check your credits, open the Credits menu. You will see Anura listed along with its cost (1

credit per check) and how many credits you have used against your limit.

Anura customers using their own instance ID can skip this step. Bringing your own key bypasses all

credit logic.

Setting it up on a funnel

  1. Go to Lead Funnels and open the funnel you want to protect.
  2. Click Edit Page, then open Settings.
  3. Scroll to Lead Verification and Enrichment.
  4. Scroll down to Click Fraud Detection. It is disabled by default. Your credit usage against your limit is shown here. (Anura customers using their own instance ID will not see credit usage.)
  5. Turn the switch on.

Choose a mode

Once enabled, you have two modes:

Enrich only

Anura evaluates every click and captures the verdict on the lead, but it does not block anyone. The

form loads for all visitors. Use this mode first to learn what your traffic looks like.

Enrich and Blocking

Anura evaluates every click, captures the verdict, and blocks the form from loading for the verdicts

you choose. You can block:

  • Leads with the Bad verdict
  • Leads with the Warn verdict
  • Or both

For example, you might let traffic flagged as Good and Warn see your form, but block the form from

loading for Bad traffic.

This is the approach Anura recommends:

  1. Start with Enrich only. Let data come in and learn what your traffic looks like.
  2. Once you have a clear picture, switch to Enrich and Blocking.
  3. Begin by blocking only the Bad verdict.
  4. Once you are comfortable, add the Warn verdict.

For Anura customers: bring your own instance ID

If you already pay for Anura, connect your own instance instead of using LeadCapture credits:

  1. Open your Account settings.
  2. Go to Account Level Integrations.
  3. Scroll past Google Address Autocomplete and Email Notifications to Click Fraud Detection.
  4. Under Bring your own instance, enter your Anura instance ID.
  5. Click Save.

This bypasses all LeadCapture credit logic. You will not be charged credits for Anura usage, and

billing is handled on the Anura side.

You still enable Click Fraud Detection on each funnel using the steps above.

Using the Anura data

In your Leads list

Every lead captured with the integration enabled shows a Click Fraud Detection (powered by Anura)

section with its verdict (Good, Warn, or Bad) and supporting detail, such as the invalid traffic type.

Note: the contact score shown on a lead comes from the phone validation feature and is separate from

Anura.

Passing data to your CRM or lead distribution tool

When you deliver leads to a CRM or lead distribution tool, the Anura field values are included in the

payload, so you can use the data wherever it needs to go.

Conditional routing

You can route leads based on the Anura verdict. This is useful when you are enriching (not blocking)

and want to handle fraudulent leads differently rather than stop them at the door.

A common setup: add a conditional routing rule on your contact info step. If the click fraud verdict

equals Bad, route the visitor to a disqualification step where your Meta or Google Ads pixel does

not fire. This keeps fraudulent conversions out of your ad platforms, which feeds cleaner data back to

Meta and Google and helps them send you better traffic.

Lead Scoring

If you use Lead Scoring, you can factor the Anura result into a lead's score:

  1. Open your Lead Scoring settings.
  2. Under Add validation bonuses, choose Click Fraud Bot Detection Good.
  3. Assign a point value (for example, 10 points).

Leads that Anura marks as Good will then receive those points when they submit your funnel.

Getting the most out of it

For the highest lead quality, combine Click Fraud Detection with LeadCapture's phone and email

verification. Anura screens the click, while phone and email validation screen the contact details.

Together they give you a much stronger picture of lead quality.
